Copper Country Senior Meals is partially funded with money from the Office of Services to the Aging, and with the acceptance of this funding comes the mandate that the program never demand payment for meals. Instead, we can suggest a donation.
The funding does not cover the full cost of operation, and we rely on donations for the remainder.
Some of our seniors already choose between medical expenses and utilities, and the meal donation is something they can eliminate.
Currently, we have over twenty seniors that are unable to donate at all for their home delivered meals. There are even more seniors that eat at dining sites that are unable to donate.
To help us continue the meals service, Copper Country Senior Meals is implementing SPONSOR A SENIOR campaign.
We are opening an opportunity for generous folks to help a neighbor, and also help the program continue.
You can choose to sponsor for a day a week, month or a year.
We serve hot meals five days weekly, and for those that are not able to manage a meal on the weekend, we deliver frozen meals.
The current suggested donation for a meal is $4.00
